"Even if the discipline is quite "recent" within the Handisport Federation, France has been able to recruit profiles that quickly facilitated access to high level performances. Indeed, the Boccia commission was created within the Federation in 2007, and as early as 2010 the athletes participated in the French championship and became European champions in 2019. They are 4th in the world today! Our ambitions remain high today. We are aiming for the title of Olympic Champion at the Tokyo Games. The training camp at the Euro-Mediterranean Complex in Montrodat [from January 11th to 15th, 2021] is the first one we have done since the beginning of the health crisis. We are going to do others until this summer. The athletes want to go all the way and come back with the Gold medal! "
"We regularly come to the Euromediterranean Complex in Montrodat for training camps. The gym is not only perfectly adapted for the practice of our sport but is also totally accessible to athletes with disabilities. And the best thing is that we have free access to all the infrastructures 24/7, at our convenience. All the conditions are met to be able to train in great conditions. We don't have to worry about logistics, we can really stay focused on our coaching or recovery missions with the athletes. Moreover, the accessibility of the cottages also facilitates a good recovery for the players as well as for the sports assistants (easy access to the rooms, to the shower...) ".
